Richard Kay has been a trial lawyer with Varnum Riddering Schmidt and Howlett for more than 30 years, and recently was named Michigan State Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers. GRAND RAPIDS — Richard Kay set out to be an engineer but switched gears and jumped on a legal track instead.
