Cascade Engineering to get MIOSHA award

Cascade Engineering will receive the highest workplace safety and health award from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration next week, according to an announcement today by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.

State officials will present the Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs Star Award Tuesday to the company's Industrial Solutions/Container Group, at a luncheon in the Cascade Engineering facility at 4950 37th St. SE, Grand Rapids. Representing the company will be plant manager Jeff Miles plus Sharon Darby, Environmental, Safety & Sustainability manager; Eric Herman, director of Operational Excellence; Mindy Ysasi of HR and Noah McGhee, the shift supervisor.

The Star award recognizes worksites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for their workers. The Industrial Solutions/Container Group employs 85 workers and is a plastic-injection molding operation, according to DELEG.
