2001 Addy Awards Calls For All Entries

GRAND RAPIDS — The Ad Club of West Michigan has issued its call for entries for the 2001 ADDY Awards competition.

The annual ADDY Awards competition recognizes exceptional advertising created in West Michigan and honors advertising excellence in all media including print, broadcast, Internet, out-of-home and public service advertising.

All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2002, at Kendall College of Art & Design. Entry fees for each single entry are $55 for Ad Club members and $75 for non-members. Advertising campaign entries are $70 each for Ad Club members and $90 each for non-members.

To be eligible for consideration of an ADDY, all work must have been published or broadcast between Jan. 1, 2001 and Dec. 31, 2001.

A panel of advertising executives will gather at Kendall College of Art & Design the weekend of Jan. 12, 2002, to select the winners from the approximately 500 entries that are anticipated. The Ad Club of West Michigan ADDY Award winners will be honored at a dinner presentation on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at the Cultural Center at St. Nicholas in Grand Rapids.

Winners are eligible to compete in the second level of the three-tiered ADDY Awards competition, the District Six awards in April. The District Six winners are then eligible for the national awards competition presented in June every year by the American Advertising Federation.

The Ad Club of West Michigan, a member association comprised of advertising and media professionals, sponsors the local ADDY Awards competition. Proceeds from the event help support the Ad Club of West Michigan’s educational programs, pubic service projects and proactive government relations efforts.
