Hanon McKendry Wins Adweeks ICON Award

GRAND RAPIDS — Hanon McKendry has been awarded a 2002 Bronze ICON, a national award sponsored by Adweek magazine that honors the best marketing communications by and for technology companies.

More than 1,000 entries from agencies across the country were judged.

Hanon McKendry was honored in the print/e-commerce category for a print ad the firm created for mindpepper LLC/BargainandHaggle.com.

“Despite BDO Seidman’s decision to divest itself of this dot-com venture, we are honored to receive national recognition for the BargainandHaggle.com program, because it was, by all measurements, a successful campaign,” said Bill McKendry, the agency’s co-founder and chief creative officer.

The Hanon McKendry team’s strategy was to position the site as the ideal online environment for auction buying and selling. The print ad appeared in national publications.
