New Manager For Campau Square Plaza
GRAND RAPIDS — CB Richard Ellis/Grand Rapids was recently retained as management and leasing agent for Campau Square Plaza, its second such contract in the downtown area.
The Class A, 12-story, 200,000-square-foot facility at 99 Monroe NW has some 15,500 square feet of contiguous office space still available.
According to Van W. Martin, president of CB Richard Ellis/Grand Rapids, the company plans to fill that space with high-profile tenants to enhance the building’s market value.
The structure’s current office tenant mix includes local, national and international firms such as Comerica Bank; BDO Seidman LLP; Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone; and McShane & Bowie PLC.
The company’s full property management contract on Campau Square Plaza covers both physical and fiscal operation of the building, which includes all accounting and leasing activities as well as all facility maintenance and mechanical operations, said Tricia Foster, director of property management for the company.
CB Richard Ellis has a similar property management contract with the McKay Tower office building downtown.
The Campau Square building is overseen by Elizabeth Slane, the on-site property manager, an assistant property manager and a maintenance staff dedicated solely to the facility, Foster noted.
Slane has been involved in Campau Square Plaza’s management since 1997.
The company is planning capital improvements to Campau Square Plaza’s parking deck and mechanical systems that are expected to get underway next spring and be completed by about this time next year, Foster said.
Campau Square Plaza is owned by an institutional investor based in Michigan whose name and location Foster said she declined to disclose.
CB Richard Ellis services include property sales and leasing, property management, corporate services and facilities management, mortgage banking, investment management, capital markets, appraisal, research and consulting.
The company is a partnership with Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest real estate services company.
Martin’s West Michigan partnership, which has offices both here and in Lansing, manages more than 4 million square feet of space between the two locations.
