WRC Awards Deadline This Week

GRAND RAPIDS — Friday is the deadline to nominate employers who have advanced leadership roles for women, provided progressive strategies to improve the delicate balance between work and home life for women, or recruited and trained women to work in nontraditional fields.

The annual recognition awards program is offered by the Women’s Resource Center.

“In the past, WRC accepted applications from employees or employers in early January, right after the holiday rush.

The new deadline gives the employer more time to complete the application and for the selection committee to review it,” said Deb Bloom, WRC business and community liaison.

Application forms are available at the WRC’s Web site, www.grwrc.org, or by calling Bloom at 458-5443.

WRC will hold its awards conference and luncheon on March 12 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

Lynn Martin, former U.S. Secretary of Labor under President George H.W. Bush and current chair of the Deloitte & Touche Council on the Advancement of Women, will be the event’s keynote speaker.
