Schreur Partners At Paramount
Schreur, executive vice president of AJS Realty and an active member of the local real estate community for better than 25 years, becomes the eighth partner at Paramount.
“I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like Jeff Schreur. We feel so fortunate to have him join our company and bring his vast contacts and his expertise to us,” said Bill Bowling, chairman, partner, and co-founder of Grubb & Ellis/Paramount.
Besides his work for AJS Realty, Schreur also served as executive vice president for CB Richard Ellis/Grand Rapids and as president of the board of directors for the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors. In 1995, Schreur was named GRAR Realtor of the Year.
Bowling said throughout his career, Schreur has been one of the highest producing sales leaders in the local market.
“As a partner, Jeff will have influence on our strategic planning and how we grow our company in the future and I think he will make a great complement to the influences we already have,” said Bowling.
Even with joining Grubb & Ellis/Paramount, Schreur isn’t leaving AJS Reality. Schreur told the Business Journal that residential real estate would still be his “bread and butter.”
“I am not changing that position,” said Schreur. “But I’ve also had a lot of business in commercial. I think they’re both distinctive separate disciplines and want to be involved with both. This gave me an opportunity to be involved in both in a professional manner.”
Schreur figured that he would spend up a third of his time working in commercial and the rest would be spent on residential.
“I believe that AJS Realty and Paramount will complement each other and a synergy will develop between the associates at one and the associates of the other. We’ve already seen some cross-referrals and I think this is going to work beautifully,” he said.
Schreur is a Certified Commercial Investment Member, a graduate of the Realtors Institute, and a member of the Society of Distinguished Real Estate Professionals.
In addition, Karman Wallace has joined the property management team at Grubb & Ellis/Paramount, after directing those activities at the Ben M. Muller Realty Co. for six years.
“We are delighted Karman chose to join our team. She has a unique ability we look for in property managers, the ability to weigh goals of property owners against expectations of tenants and satisfy both, which allows us to form long-term relationships with both owners and tenants,” said Mike McDaniels, founder of Paramount Property Management.
Wallace will try to expand the firm’s management portfolio.
Adding Schreur and Wallace increases the staff at Grubb & Ellis/Paramount to 51. The firm has its headquarters at 300 Ottawa Ave. NW.
