GRAND RAPIDS — Barnes & Thornburg, one of the Midwest’s largest law firms with more than 350 attorneys, has selected Grand Rapids for its first Michigan office.

Longtime Grand Rapids attorney Tracy T. Larsen, who has joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner, will lead the local office.

“The opening of our office in Grand Rapids fits perfectly into the Midwest regional strategy that Barnes & Thornburg adopted years ago,” said Alan Levin, the firm’s managing partner.

Barnes & Thornburg has offices in Indianapolis and throughout Indiana, as well as in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

“We have been extremely fortunate to have already established strong relationships with several of Michigan’s largest companies, and with the opportunity to add Tracy’s regional and national merger, acquisition and corporate finance practice to the firm, the time was definitely right to open an office in Grand Rapids. Our goal is to add additional premier lawyers to the office to serve the legal needs of the West Michigan business community,” Levin said. “We anticipate strong growth for the office — similar to that which we have achieved in Chicago.”

The firm’s local offices will be located on the sixth floor of the Campau Square Plaza Building, 99 Monroe Ave. NW.
