COMSTOCK PARK — Following up a big win at last year's NeoCon, when it won the "Best of Competition" award with its Origin furniture system, Nucraft Furniture Co. returned this year with the "Swiss Army Knife" of conference tables.

Called Avid, the table "conceals just about every technical tool you can think of in an attractive, compact package," the Comstock Park-based company said.

With a contemporary design and using a mixture of wood, metal and glass to create an aesthetic that can range from "ultra high-tech to conservative," Avid offers numerous electronic features — all tucked inside — for lighting, storage, wire management, connections for laptop computers and projection equipment.

"Avid could be called the Swiss Army Knife of conference tables. It may well integrate more technology more thoroughly than any table ever produced," Nucraft President and Chief Operating Officer Bob Bockheim said.

Avid was developed for Nucraft by Turn Design. The table won a Silver Award at this year's Best of NeoCon design competition.

The firm said that the table's look can range from "ultra high-tech" to boardroom conservative.
