Stealth Coming To Muskegon
The U.S. Air Force has announced that the F-117A Stealth Nighthawk will fly at the Muskegon Air Fair all three show days, July 4, 5 and 6. The aircraft will be from the 8th Fighter Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico and piloted by Major Byron Matthewson.
The F-117A has been the lead attack aircraft for the U.S. military. With its radar-evading airframe, advanced performance and superior electronics, it is able to sneak behind enemy lines and deliver its arsenal without notice.
The F-117A was the first strike aircraft over Baghdad in the 1991 Gulf War and used extensively in the recent war in Iraq.
The 2003 Muskegon Air Fair takes off on the 4th of July and lasts the entire weekend. Festivities begin Thursday night, July 3, with recording artist Sheryl Crow performing.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform along with the Stealth, a U.S. Navy F-14 Tomcat, an A-10 Thunderbolt II, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, a Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet, Sean D. Tucker and the Oracle Challenger, the car-eating monster truck Robosaurus, Wright Flyer and Warbirds.
New this year at the Air Fair are reserved grandstand seating. All tickets are available at Tickets Plus by calling (800) 585-3737, www.ticketsplus.net or at Meijer stores.
