GRAND RAPIDS — WXMI FOX-17’s News At Ten and the Grand Rapids Business Journal have formed a news partnership that will bring greater news content and exposure to both businesses, effective immediately.

The partners will share content regarding local business, economic development and health related news. Ideally, the effort will result in better information for Journal readers and FOX viewers.

“The Grand Rapids Business Journal has an excellent reputation for breaking and covering important business and economic news in the greater West Michigan region. We look forward to combining our resources with them to bring timely and relevant information to their readers and our viewers,” said Tim Dye, FOX 17 news director.

Journal Editor Carole Valade Copenhaver sees value in the relationship, too.

“The FOX 17 news team has demonstrated its desire and ability to research and report important local stories, such as its exclusive on the city assessor’s office. We are very pleased to share with FOX viewers the most exciting stories of these times, stories of the business community and young entrepreneurs. We also are pleased to offer Business Journal readers additional news and insight as a result of this partnership. We are sure this partnership of print and broadcast journalism will enhance both products, and it provides an extension for readers, viewers and advertisers alike.”

“This partnership is just another example of our growth and credibility with viewers and the business community alike,” said Ed Fernandez, vice president and general manager at FOX 17.

“FOX 17 has always had a great deal of respect for the work the Grand Rapids Business Journal has done over the years and this union will help service the greater West Michigan area well.”
