GRAND RAPIDS — Technology is getting a chance to show what it can do starting this morning.

The Biz² Expo and Conference, which started this morning at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. and runs the same times tomorrow, is being held at the Grand Center and is open to the public.

The Biz² Expo & Conference, put on by Independence Day Productions (IDP), features a full array of business products and services on display. The two-day event will provide local and national businesses the opportunity to showcase, demonstrate and compare the latest products and services available, all under one roof.

Free educational sessions will take place throughout the two days in theaters on the show floor, while keynote speakers address topics ranging from the latest threats in IT security, new law enforcement initiatives, how to avoid common business finance mistakes, the SmartZone program and more.

“The Biz² Expo & Conference was developed with today’s business decision-maker in mind,” said Julio Suarez, event director. “The idea is to provide them with information on the latest products and services that will help them advance their businesses, give them an opportunity to sit in on educational sessions and offer them a chance to network with industry experts and their peers.”

Among the sponsors of the event are Office Depot, Custer Office Environments and CPR. Other event partners include the Michigan InfraGard, West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, TDS Metrocom, Exhibit Design Consultants, Governor Computer Products, MiBiz, US Signal, The TM Group, WOOD 1300, GVSU and ISG.

More than 70 local and national companies are expected to be represented at the expo.

“Grand Rapids has shown their determination in driving business in the region by their total support of the event,” said Suarez.
