County Approves Labor Agreement
The new agreement raises wages for the nurses by 3 percent in the first year and 2.25 percent in the second year.
The labor contract increases the nurses’ annual cost of wages and benefits by $300,000 over the life of the agreement to $3.41 million.
Part of the increase includes funds that will be committed to the pension plan over those two years.
Commissioner Harold Voorhees was one of two board members that voted against the agreement. Voorhees said he felt the contract was inflationary.
