PRSA Meeting Examines Diversity
GRAND RAPIDS — This month’s meeting of the West Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of American features the program, “Diversity: A Valuable Asset for PR and a Strategy for Business Success.”
The Public Relations Society of America, both nationally and locally, has recently launched a diversity initiative. Marc Little will speak at the event, which is set for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, at Grand Valley State University’s Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids.
Little is a PRSA member who serves as vice-chair of the National Diversity Committee and on the five-year Strategic Planning Committee. He also is president of the Sunshine (Florida) Chapter of the National Black Public Relations Society and a member of the PRSA’s Counselors Academy.
Little’s remarks will be followed by a panel discussion of local diversity experts including:
- Steve Robbins, PhD, director of the Woodrick Institute.
- Alice Kennedy, president of Kennedy Management Resources Inc. (home of Diversity Theatre) and chairperson of the Multiracial Association of Professionals.
- Gail Harrison, executive director of the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance.
- Sonya Hughes, diversity programs director for the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.
