COMSTOCK PARK — A sleek, flexible wall system to accommodate presentations to groups highlighted NuCraft Furniture Co.’s 2004 NeoCon exhibit and took a gold award in NeoCon’s design competition.

NuCraft also brought home a silver award for the new line of tables and credenzas — known as Saber — that it unveiled at the show.

The wall system, known as Mural, is designed for a wide variety of presentation formats and electronic equipment, including plasma and projection screens, cameras for videoconferencing, sound systems, laptop computers and CPUs.

NuCraft, based in Comstock Park, manufactures furniture for conference and training rooms, reception areas and private offices.

The firm bills Mural as usable in “any area where the presentation or display of information is required.”

Bob Surman, NuCraft’s marketing director, said the wall system features a shallow profile and comes in a mix of wood, glass and metal materials.

He also said it is easily reconfigured and that it incorporates both architectural and furniture elements.

“Think of Mural as a functional wall placed in front of the architectural wall,” Surman said.

“It combines the beauty of wood furniture, the functionality of high-tech equipment closets, and the thin profile of architectural walls all in one product.”
