Lakeshore Athena Award Created
GRAND HAVEN — The chambers of commerce for Grand Haven, Ferrysburg, Spring Lake, Holland and Muskegon are hosting their first Lakeshore Athena Award program in October.
The event, which recognizes individuals for professional excellence, community service and assisting women to reach full leadership potential, is set for noon, Oct. 11, at Trillium/Gilmore Banquet and Conference Center in Spring Lake.
Huntington Bank has signed on as the premier sponsor.
"The lakeshore area chambers of commerce believe in the values underlying the Athena Foundation's philosophy of incorporating the talent and expertise of women into the leadership of our businesses, our communities and our government," said Huntington's Claudia Berry.
"The Lakeshore Athena Award Program was created to seek out and honor our shoreline leaders who exemplify the Athena philosophy."
