HOLLAND — The Big Dutchman Inc.-USA is expanding its presence in Holland

The poultry and egg production systems company is consolidating its U.S. operations into a new Holland-area facility at

3900 John F. Donnelly Drive
combining its current Holland warehousing facility and manufacturing facility in Russellville, Ky.

The Big Dutchman transition will create 40 new jobs for the Holland area.

"We want to be more efficient in serving our customers," said Janelle Coffey, communications specialist. "We won't have to travel between the facilities to fulfill our orders."

The new location will keep the current Holland facility's 110 employees, who will make the move from the

694 E. 40th St.
location at the end of summer. Coffey said the whole transition should be complete by the beginning of 2006.

"We've been in this area since the company was founded and are committed to the area," she said.

The new facility will have 120,000 square feet of operational space and 7,000 feet of office space, compared to the 90,000-square-foot current facility, which has been listed for sale.

Big Dutchman-USA, a subsidiary of Big Dutchman AG, is responsible for sales and service in the Americas, as well as maintaining facilities in the United States and Brazil. The company is based in Germany and has been a global leader in poultry and egg production systems since 1938.
