KENTWOOD — Intertek ETL Entela has leased 96,000 square feet of space in the former Bosch No. 1 plant at

4700 Broadmoor Ave. SE
in Kentwood

Tom Kladder, CFO and company vice president of finance, said Intertek ETL Entela will consolidate operations of six properties to the Kentwood site. Kladder also said the firm will add more loading docks to the property and expand the building’s office space, which currently measures 15,000 square feet.

Randy Bronkema, an industrial specialist and vice president with S.J. Wisinski & Co., brokered the deal, which is for 10 years and six months.

Bronkema said the space will house a general office and a laboratory used for engineering, testing, inspection and quality assurance.

“Intertek ETL Entela anticipates growth in the future, but is unable to define the amount at this time,” said Bronkema.

ETL Entela is part of the Intertek Group PLC. ETL Entela provides testing and failure analysis for automotive products, systems and components, and system certifications that range from ISO 9000 to ISO 14000.

The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) last month accepted the Grand Rapids ETL Entela office as a technical service supplier for lighting and EMC testing. VCA is the approval authority in the United Kingdom, and being an approved supplier means ETL Entela can sell auto components in Europe. The Boston office also received the same certification.

ETL Entela is headquartered in Grand Rapids. Besides Boston, the company has offices in Detroit, Taipei and Shanghai

Franklin Kentwood LLC owns the former Bosch property.
