County Buying Land For Park
GRAND RAPIDS — Kent County commissioners recently agreed to buy 3.6 acres of land in Kentwood for $100,000, the appraised value.
The property is adjacent to 60 undeveloped acres that makes up Paris Park, which is a recreational area of forests and wetlands. Paris Park is north of 60th Street SE and west of Wing Avenue. The county will use the new land for parking and as a staging area for the Thornapple Trail.
Money for the purchase will come from the county’s parks acquisition and development fund.
