Hospital Names Executive Medical Director

DeVos Children’s Hospital has announced the appointment of Dominic Sanfilippo, M.D., as executive medical director. Sanfilippo will be responsible for planning and directing policies, clinical programs, clinical activities and management of medical staff relations for West Michigan’s largest children’s hospital.

He will continue to serve as division chief for pediatric critical care medicine, a position he has held for more than 18 years.

Sanfilippo earned a medical degree from Wayne State University and completed his residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Following residency, he completed fellowships in pediatric critical care at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. Sanfilippo has served on numerous statewide, community and hospital committees and is presently the medical director of the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care.

DeVos Children’s Hospital, a member of Spectrum Health, is West Michigan’s largest children’s hospital, serving children and families throughout a 37-county region. The team includes more than 100 specialists providing medical care to children in over 40 outpatient clinical settings.     HQX
