DDA Gives Grants
GRAND RAPIDS — The Downtown Development Authority awarded building re-use grants to two projects on Grandville Avenue last week that totaled $150,000.
Domus Fermendum LLC got a $50,000 grant for its renovation of the former Anheuser-Busch bottling plant at 72 Grandville Ave. SW. The developers, Sam Cummings and Eric Wynsma, are spending $1.65 million to turn the two-story, century-old building into a home for a restaurant and a nightspot on the lower level and office space on the second floor.
Raider Development LLC received a $100,000 grant for its renovation of the buildings at 206 and 208 Grandville Ave. SW. Raider Development has market-rate housing, offices and retail space planned for the structures. The firm is investing $2.1 million in the project.
