Perrigo To Purchase Qualis

ALLEGAN — Perrigo Co. plans to acquire the privately owned Qualis Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa, which manufactures store brand treatments for lice and scabies. The purchase only includes store brand, over-the-counter product formulations that compare to Rid and Nix head lice treatments. The $12 million transaction is expected to close on or around June 30.

The Qualis products represent a new product category in Perrigo's Consumer Healthcare business segment. Perrigo expects the new products will generate up to $10 million in additional net sales annually.
