Whispering Woods, 3980 Whispering Way Drive SE, Grand Rapids, recently opened a renovated building to reposition the facility in the marketplace as “The Country Club of Assisted Living.” The facility is located off East Paris Avenue just south of Burton Street.

The new, 18-unit Bridgewater Bay offers senior citizens spacious private rooms with water views, many with sunrooms and a fresh, East-Coast-beach atmosphere throughout. The building, which underwent $1 million in renovations, offers a complete package of personalized options, including hospitality, entertainment and health services.

The project design, driven by consumer preferences and interests determined through focus groups and clientele survey responses, included exterior updates, expansion of all units, creation of private baths, the update and improvement of all common areas, and the addition of features such as hardwood floors, palladium windows, a balcony, a theater and two private dining rooms.

Whispering Woods is owned by LifeHouse Retirement Properties and provides a continuum of care, including independent apartments, assisted living, specialized and secured memory care, and short-term respite stays. LifeHouse Retirement Properties, which is based in Grand Rapids, owns and manages independent/assisted living communities and health care and rehabilitation centers in Michigan, Illinois and California.     CQ
