Koslosky Takes Top Award
GRAND RAPIDS — James Koslosky, director of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, has been named 2007 Airport Manager of the Year by the Michigan Association of Airport Executives.
MAAE President Sean Brosnan said Koslosky also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the organization for his “tremendous service” to Michigan.
“Jim does things right,” Brosnan said. “He’s very active in the community. Anytime there is a community gathering, Jim is out there carrying the airport’s message. That is a great way to run an airport, and it’s the right way to run an airport: It should be held up as an example of how other airport managers ought to be involved in the community.”
Koslosky stays on top of all the issues affecting the industry, too, Brosnan said. He also has a “tremendous” legacy in nurturing great managers. He has been a “fabulous” mentor not only to his staff but to a number of people in the association who now oversee other airports in Michigan, so his impact is felt all over the state, according to Brosnan.
“He just does so many things and does so many things well,” Brosnan remarked.
