GRAND RAPIDS — The Terryberry Co., a 90-year-old provider of employee recognition products and award services, has acquired John Gray Awards, a Cincinnati-based business that also specializes in producing custom jewelry and awards for employee recognition programs.

According to a news release, the acquisition is expected to increase Terryberry’s business by approximately 15 percent. Within the next 90 days, Terryberry will move all manufacturing associated with John Gray Awards to Grand Rapids, creating six to eight new jobs at Terryberry’s headquarters at 2033 Industrial Drive NE in Grand Rapids.

“John Gray mirrors all that Terryberry has valued in its 90-year history, and we saw this as a strategic growth move for our business,” said Mike Byam, a fourth-generation partner with the company.

Terryberry will maintain the John Gray Award’s sales office in Cincinnati.

Terryberry employs approximately 140 people, the majority of whom provide custom design and manufacturing services at the company’s Grand Rapids location.
