GRAND RAPIDS —  Two Grand Rapids advertising firms, Hanon McKendry and DP Fox Ventures-owned Justice & Monroe Advertising announced today that they will merge in February.

Justice & Monroe handled most of the work for DP Fox Ventures affiliated businesses and had about six employees. Among Justice & Monroe clients were DP Fox businesses Fox Motors, the Grand Rapids Rampage and the DeVos family’s Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

“We’re in a growth mode,” Hanon McKendry CEO Bob Blanchard said. “We’re looking for solid talent, and this merger provides the opportunity to meet that need with some very experienced professionals.”

Blanchard said six to 10 Justice & Monroe employees will be given the opportunity to interview for jobs at the 25-employee Hanon McKendry.

About half of Justice & Monroe’s business came from business affiliated with DP Fox Ventures, such as Fox Motors, the Grand Rapids Rampage and the DeVos family’s Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Blanchard said.

“We are very pleased to merge our operations with Hanon McKendry,” DP Fox Ventures president and CEO Dan DeVos said.

Hanon McKendry offers brand consulting, advertising and marketing to businesses and nonprofits. Blanchard said the firm has recently acquired new clients that have prompted the need for more personnel. Among those clients are Bethany Christian Services, Modernistic Cleaning & Restoration and West Michigan Science and Technology Initiative.

“Our last couple of hires has been from out of state,” Blanchard said. “It’s hard to find good talent. One thing that Justice & Monroe has is senior, veteran people in the industry that we could use.”

Justice & Monroe will remain open until Feb. 29, Blanchard added.
