The 500,000-square-foot River House Condominiums project will become the tallest building in downtown Grand Rapids, as well as the tallest all-residential building. Work on the 34-story project is well under way. Robert Grooters Development is developing the facility, which upon completion will be so tall that on a clear day, condo owners on the 26th to 34th floors of the building will be able to see Lake Michigan. River House’s 207 condominiums and 414 parking spaces will be enjoined with sister tower Bridgewater Place, the 18-story, Class-A office building at 333 Bridge St. that’s distinguished by its reflective blue glass. Grooters developed Bridgewater in 1993. River House is the long-awaited second tower for which Grooters had reserved a half-acre footprint. Project architects include Grand Rapids-based DTS & Winkelmann Architects, and Lucien Lagrange Architects of Chicago. Construction is by Wolverine Building Group.
