GRAND RAPIDS — The Michigan Women’s Foundation last week honored two Grand Rapids area residents and business and community leaders: Mary Ellen Rodgers, U.S. managing partner, Field Operations, Deloitte LLP, and Jean Enright, former executive assistant to the president of Grand Valley State University. They are among five of this year’s Women of Achievement and Courage honorees.

The Michigan Women’s Foundation was established to create a permanent financial resource for programs that serve women and girls. Honorees were recognized “for their accomplishments, dedication and vision in having significantly improved the lives of Michigan women and girls.” The award event spanned two evenings, one at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids and one in Detroit.

New this year was the inclusion of the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts. Through the UICA, more than 20 women artists displayed and sold their work at events. Proceeds went to the artist, the UICA and to the foundation.
