State Group Honors Local Projects
GRAND RAPIDS — A trio of downtown developments were honored last week at the 2008 Michigan Downtown Conference.
Hopson Flats, a student residential building on Grandville Avenue owned by Locus Development, was given the Best Living Downtown award. Dwelling Place won the Collaboration award for the Avenue of the Arts project on South Division Avenue. And the Grand Rapids Art Museum on Monroe Center won the Large Scale Green Project honor.
“I was really pleased that we got three,” said Jay Fowler, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority.
Muskegon Main Street Manager Dan Rinsema-Sybenga was named the Michigan Main Street Manager of the Year, and Copies Plus of Cedar Springs won the Small Community Façade Rehabilitation award.
