The Right Place helps keep 116 new jobs and 35 million in capital investment in Two Cities

New jobs and capital investment in West Michigan; not the most common phrase these days, but The Right Place Inc. has assisted two local companies expand to provide 116 new jobs and $3.5 million in capital investment.

The Michigan Economic Growth Authority has approved state tax incentives for GRW Technologies Inc. located in Kentwood and DornerWorks based in Grand Rapids. With the MEGA tax credits the companies expect to create new jobs and investment over a five-year span.

GRW Technologies, based in Germany, represents 66 of the new jobs and $2,005,000 in capital investment. The company provides precision injection molding and needs to expand its location to handle a new contract with Continental Inc.

Along with a 17,500 square-foot expansion, the company also plans to purchase $500,000 in injection molding equipment as well as $1,505,000 in new equipment.

While the majority of GRW’s clients are in Mexico, the incentives kept the company in West Michigan.

DornerWorks, Ltd. Expects to add 50 new jobs and $1,500,000 in capital investment. The electronics engineering consulting firm currently has a diverse customer base that includes medical devices, automotive and aerospace.

The company’s need for expansion comes after landing new national aerospace customers.

The Right Place Inc. worked together with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the cities of Kentwood and Grand Rapids to help both companies with the expansions.

With the addition of these expansions, The Right Place Inc. has generated over $39,955,000 in capital investment and assisted in the retention and creation of more than 591 West Michigan jobs to date in 2009.
