Remembering an icon
A memorial celebration of L. William Seidman's life and accomplishments was held Sept. 11 at Grand Valley State University. Seidman, founding chair of the GVSU Board of Trustees, died May 13 at age 88. Memorial speakers included Seidman’s son Tom (above left), as well as (bottom) Tom Haas, GVSU president, Richard M. DeVos, co-founder of Amway, and Arend D. Lubbers, president emeritus, GVSU; Birge Swift Watkins (above, right), former national investor outreach director, FDIC/RTC, and former staff assistant to President Gerald R. Ford; Roger Porter (below, left), IBM professor of business and government, Harvard University; and Sue Herera (below right), founding member of CNBC and co-anchor of Power Lunch.
