Both Todd Wenzel Automotive locations are getting upgrades as part of a national push by General Motors to create a new brand identity and attract more customers to its dealerships.

The company’s Buick and GMC dealership at 2727 28th St. SE in Grand Rapids is getting a full makeover. Wolverine Building Group is stripping out the 11,000-square-foot interior and completely rebuilding the space.

Todd Wenzel Chevrolet, 3165 Highland Drive in Hudsonville, is also undergoing an extensive remodeling effort, which includes a 2,500-square-foot addition to the service department. The addition will give the dealership a total of 9,000 square feet.

Wolverine project manager Jim Ziegler said both Wenzel locations will recieve upgrades to the showrooms, offices and service centers, along with exterior elements that include new siding and entrance canopies. “Bringing the facilities in line with current GM standards will provide a fresh look that will encourage car shoppers to feel more confident about their next purchase,” said Ziegler.

Todd Wenzel Automotive is the third-largest Chevrolet dealer in West Michigan and the largest Buick and GMC volume dealer throughout central and West Michigan. The company employs 150.

Design Plus designed both projects, which are expected to be finished by early November.
