Kent Companies adds new division
Grand Rapids-based Kent Companies Inc. has launched a new division and appointed two new division managers.
The concrete company is responding to the rising demand for restoration work with the formation of Kent Building Restoration, a new division that specializes in building restoration, caulking and commercial waterproofing, said CEO Jeff VanderLaan.
The new division complements Kent Companies’ existing products and services, including concrete construction, concrete pumping, lightweight and specialty floor underlayments, concrete lifting, decorative concrete, foundation stabilization, in-plant maintenance, facility services, waterproofing and concrete staining and polishing.
The new division will be headed by Philip J. Bouma, an expert in concrete and masonry restoration and commercial caulking and waterproofing. Bouma has more than a decade of experience in the construction industry, including construction estimating and project management. As the division leader, Bouma will be responsible for all bidding and sales, and will oversee field operations.
Kent Companies is headquartered in Grand Rapids and has locations in Detroit, as well as in Dallas, and in Charlotte, N.C.
Family owned for three generations, Kent Companies has more than 50 years in the construction business.
