Magazine names CBRE Group top commercial broker
A leading magazine for professional real estate investors released its annual list of the world’s top brokerage firms last week, and National Real Estate Investor named the CB Richard Ellis Group as the top U.S.-based commercial broker.
It’s the ninth consecutive year the CBRE Group has been ranked at the top by the magazine, which bases its ranking on the aggregate value of sales and leasing transactions worldwide during 2011.
The CBRE Group recorded $159 billion in global sales and leases last year, according to the magazine.
“With the most comprehensive services platform in the industry, our local market professionals bring CBRE’s superior standard of professional representation to multi-market companies and local users alike. That dedication to excellence is reflected in this ranking,” said Drew Miller, managing director of CBRE Grand Rapids, in a statement.
Three other global firms with local offices made the list. Colliers International was ranked fourth with $68 billion in worldwide sales and leases. NAI Global was fifth with $55 billion, and Sperry Van Ness International was 19th with nearly $5.4 billion in sales and leases.
