Consumers Energy postpones scheduled electric outage
Consumers Energy has postponed until Nov. 11 an electric outage originally scheduled Sunday morning, Nov. 4, in Kent County’s Plainfield and Grand Rapids townships.
The 45-minute outage now scheduled from 5-5:45 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, will allow the utility to safely replace equipment in the Plainfield substation. Work scheduling issues prompted the date change.
The approximate outage boundaries are the Grand River to the north and east, Three Mile Road to the south and Plainfield Avenue and Dean Lake to the west. It includes portions of Plainfield and Grand Rapids townships. Approximately 2,650 Consumers Energy customers are in the area where power will be shut off.
