Black Friday might be over, but the holiday bargains have only just begun for some Grand Rapids retailers.

The shopping spree begins at Shop Hop, the annual shopping event put on by the Uptown District in Grand Rapids, which commences Thursday from 4-10 p.m.

More than 70 businesses are set to participate in the East Hills, Eastown, Wealthy Street and East Fulton shopping areas.

Stores will be offering free samples and discounts. The event will also include carolers, horse-drawn carriages and free shuttle rides. Stores will carry shuttle maps and business directories for customers.

This year, warming stations — complete with either free or specially priced coffee, hot chocolate or cider — will be available in each district.
