West Michigan companies' high-value IP lands them on NYSE patent index
The index (NYSE: OTPAT) considers the value of a company’s intellectual property, particularly patents. It represents 300 companies that own the most-valuable patents relative to their book value.
Patent value is a strong indicator of a company’s commitment to innovation and technology, according to the index.
"We are privileged to be a part of the esteemed Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index for seven years in a row," said Jeff M. Fettig, Whirlpool’s chairman and CEO. "This reflects our continued priority around product innovation. We are committed to innovation that is compelling and practical for our consumers and delivers optimal results for our stakeholders."
