For anyone who’s ever seen the TV show “Bridezillas,” it’s clear that wedding stress can bring out the worst in some women — and also some men.

"It doesn't have to be crazy," said Denise Kolesar, show manager of the Winter Bridal Show, who suggests that staying organized can help alleviate stress before and during the wedding day.

Kolesar should know; she’s been helping West Michigan brides plan their weddings for eight years now by bringing vendors together from all avenues of the wedding planning process during the annual Winter Bridal Show.

This year the Winter Bridal Show is being held on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, at DeVos Place. The bridal expo will take place from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Hot trends that will be on display during the weekend are bridal up-dos, fountain cakes with LED lighting, vintage table designs and the latest in wedding fashion.

The weekend will include three fashion shows, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday and noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The fashion shows will showcase the 2013 limited edition wedding gown collection from Vue Design, the Grand Rapids design studio’s first ready-to-wear line.

“We are honored to present to future brides this limited edition collection by Vue Design," said Kolesar.

Vue Design is a working design studio where brides can work with designers to create their perfect custom wedding gown.

Expo attendees will have the opportunity to meet professional wedding planners from all facets of the industry, including bridal and tuxedo shops, reception facilities, photographers, cake designers, caterers, florists, salons and hair stylists, and many more.

Brides and grooms can print a checklist from GRBrides.com to help them stay organized as they peruse the booths and gather ideas.

“Your careful planning can make it timeless, romantic and magical, so your wedding day will be an event to remember — and fun," Kolesar said.

Admission to the Winter Bridal Show is $7 at the door, and discount coupons are available online by visiting Kohler Expos' website.
