Sam’s Joint opened in Caledonia in 1977, and owner Sam Bravata began decorating the restaurant with his unique collection of antiques and oddities. The restaurant has since closed, and on Tuesday, Feb. 12, Bravata will auction off the original location’s decor.

Orbitbid.com will conduct the online auction, which will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. Items will be available for preview from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.

The Sam's Joint auction will feature wide range of items: vintage furniture, organs and pianos, scale model airplanes and boats, vintage firearms, an Italian granite bust and a carved eagle with an 11-foot wingspan, a diving bell, mid-century collectibles, a vintage gas pump, military artifacts, statues, carvings, old sports memorabilia, rare metal signs, old dolls, stained-glass windows, stained glass Tiffany shades and vintage toys, trucks and pedal cards.

Sam’s Joint locations in Plainwell, Alaska, Gun Lake, Coopersville, Rockford and Norton Shores remain open. The Caledonia location is for sale.

The online auction is being conducted to help with operations at the remaining locations.
