Start Garden invests in scheduling software and art gallery
Start Garden has announced it will make an initial investment in SchedFull, a web based software solution for office scheduling.
SchedFull, which will receive $5,000, re-schedules and fills in cancellations and also sends scheduling reminders via email, phone and text. Start Garden announced the funding last week.
SchedFull creator Thanh Tran writes on his Start Garden page that the software is "not only a solution for health care, but for any appointment-based services, including salons, rental properties, tax services and more: Office schedulers don’t have to manage a paper waiting list for clients/patients who want to be seen sooner; play phone tag, which is never fun nor efficient; initiate cancellation fees to avoid last-minute cancellations, which patients dislike and might never return to your service or overbook to avoid possible future cancellations, which usually result in long wait times to see physicians.”
Start Garden also announced its community endorsed the Con Artist Crew gallery for $5,000 in initial funding.
Con Artist Crew is a local art gallery, showcasing the works of local artists and those from the surrounding regions.
The gallery provides studio showcasing space and hosts musical and dance performances, as well as multimedia installations.
“With the growing art scene in Grand Rapids, galleries have come and gone, with only a few established galleries . . . and Avenue for the Arts. With all these competitors, they still don’t offer the array of work that has reached our gallery wall,” writes Con Artist Crew co-owner Magdalene Law on her Start Garden page. “Con Artist Crew offers a gallery space and artist studios to build a creative community with outreach programs to educate the public and create art experiences.”
Start Garden’s next Update Night — when funded ideas present on their progress for additional funding — is Thursday, Feb. 28.
Start Garden is Rick DeVos' $15 million seed fund. Each week, two startup ideas receive $5,000 each from Start Garden — with one idea selected by the Start Garden team and one idea selected by the Start Garden community.
