Gipper's Sports Bar & Grill assets head to auction
It hasn’t been a good year for the Gipper.
Not only did his Fighting Irish suffer a loss in the BCS national championship game to Alabama and the embarrassing aftermath of Manti Te’o’s non-existent girlfriend, but now a troubled West Michigan bar bearing the famous Notre Dame coach’s name is going under.
Gipper’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 3850 Alpine Ave. NW, Comstock Park, is liquidating its assets after losing its liquor license in January 2012, reportedly following a series of violent incidents in and near the establishment.
Gipper's remaining assets will be sold at a one day online auction: commercial restaurant equipment, tables, chairs, booths, bar equipment, audio equipment, sports collectibles, coolers, freezers and more.
An auction preview is available today until 4 p.m., and the auction runs from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday.
All bidding will be held online at Orbitbid.com. Some staff will be available on site at Gipper’s if assistance is needed.
