Michigan has been listed as one of the nation’s best craft beer states by USA Today.

USA Today's list of the 10 best craft beer states in America is ordered by the number of breweries per state, which lists Michigan with 102. The Michigan Brewers Guild, however, has about 130 registered breweries.

“Michigan is quickly moving up the ladder in the world of craft beers with over 100 breweries in the state. You may not find the big name craft brews of other states, but what you will find is some hidden gems — and maybe your new favorite — at local institutions like Bell’s Brewery and Founders Brewery,” according to USA Today.

California leads the pack with more than 265 breweries.

The Pacific Northwest is well represented, with Washington and Oregon placing second and fourth, respectively.

Colorado ranks third, with breweries such as New Belgium, Left Hand and Avery.

Michigan’s Great Lakes neighbors Wisconsin and Illinois also appear on the top 10 list. Wisconsin ranks seventh, and Illinois rounds out the top 10.
