Wolverine Worldwide walks its brands into Grand Rapids

For the first time ever this week, Wolverine Worldwide is hosting a global conference for all of its brands — and the event is being held in downtown Grand Rapids at DeVos Place.

The global, multi brand sales conference will bring more than 1,000 international partners and employees to the city.

The conference will include a CAT Footwear runway show, an Urban Adventure Race through Grand Rapids, a charity bicycle assembly project benefiting Elves & More and trade booths highlighting 12 company brands and featuring the 2014 lines and accessories.

In the past, separate brand-specific conferences have been held around the country rather than in one location.

Wolverine's conference is not open to the public, and it runs through Sunday.

“Wolverine Worldwide has a proud and successful global history — one of the longest in the footwear industry and dating back more than 50 years,” said Christi Cowdin, a spokesperson for Wolverine Worldwide. “Our international partners have helped build our success over this time. Every May is a special time at our company, when we can share our mutual success and plan the path of future growth with our international partners. We are extremely excited to welcome them all here to Grand Rapids.”
