Four artists have been chosen to participate in ArtPrize as part of the Legacy Trust Award Collection.

The LTAC hosts a special spring competition for adult artists with disabilities, and the winning artists receive $500 and sponsorship in ArtPrize 2013.

LTAC already has secured DeVos Place as a venue for the four artists.

LTAC named the winning artists last week: Lane Cooper, Jackson Botsford, Joshua Andrus and Elizabeth Martin.

Twenty-five artists from around the state, including the Upper Peninsula, submitted artwork for consideration in this year’s LTAC competition.

More than 1,000 votes were cast in person or online during the day of the competition.

“We are beyond thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year’s competition,” said Bill Walker, CEO and president of Legacy Trust and founder LTAC in 2010. “Not only did we expand our outreach to include artists from across the state, we were able to share their incredible work internationally. The caliber of art was particularly amazing this year.

“Thanks to all who came out or went online to vote. We look forward to sharing the work of Lane, Jackson, Josh and Elizabeth during ArtPrize 2013.”

Legacy Trust also will work with each of the four artists to market their entries, secure media coverage prior to and during the event and support their entries into the world’s largest art competition.

Artist registration for ArtPrize 2013 concludes on Thursday, and artists have until June 20 to secure a venue for their work during the competition.
