Oliver-Tolas Healthcare Packaging opens plant in China
Oliver-Tolas Healthcare Packaging is expanding on three continents.
Oliver-Tolas has launched a Chinese manufacturing plant, acquired a Pennsylvania facility and expanded a Dutch clean room facility.
In 2006, Oliver-Tolas opened a Suzhou, China, sales office and now will add a 12,000-square-foot manufacturing plant.
“We are bringing die-cut lid manufacturing to China paired with our core adhesive technologies and robust quality system” said Jeff Murak, vice president of sales and marketing. “This allows Oliver-Tolas to improve and localize service to existing customers in the region and support demand from medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers moving into China.”
The Pennsylvania site is a 50,000-square-foot structure next to the company’s current operation in Feasterville.
“We have been deliberating expansion options for our Feasterville operation and are excited to have overcome space limitations” said Jerry Bennish, Oliver-Tolas president and CEO. “Utilization of the additional warehouse space has begun and plans are underway to construct an ISO 7 and an ISO 8 clean room totaling 5,000 square feet.”
The Pennsylvania site manufactures pouches, roll stock, lids and zone-coated lids, and the expansion will allow for improved efficiency, additional capacity and clean room space.
The expansion in the Netherlands is in the city of Venray, and includes a 1,300-square-foot ISO 8 certified clean room and a 16,000-square-foot warehouse. The facility makes lids and pouches with Xhale- and SealScience-coated products.
“The expansion demonstrates Oliver-Tolas’ commitment to the European sterile-grade packaging market” said Rutger van Dooren, international managing director.
These announcements come just a year after the company invested $1.3 million into the Grand Rapids facility, which included manufacturing and clean room expansions and packaging updates. The expansion brought the Grand Rapids facility to 180,000 square feet.
Oliver-Tolas also has a manufacturing operation in Hamilton, Ohio, as well as sales offices throughout the United State and Europe.
