A new Jo-Ann store will be opening in West Michigan next month.

Jo-Ann, which operates 41 of its 770 stores in Michigan, is preparing to open the new Grandville store on Aug. 30 — just down the road from the Rivertown Crossings Mall, at 3323 Century Center St.

The grand opening weekend celebration is set for Sept. 12-14.

Store hours are expected to be 9 a.m.– 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday.

The new store is looking to employ 25 to 35 part-time team members and five full-time management staff.

People can apply in person at a job fair held on July 11-12, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Jo-Ann’s Grand Rapids store, at 3665 28th Street SE.

“The store in Grandville will offer the community a larger assortment of the crafting, sewing, seasonal and home-decor items than what they are probably used to in a much more convenient store layout,” said Beth Shivak, a spokesperson for Jo-Ann fabric and craft stores.

“The real estate team at Jo-Ann is constantly assessing the need for new stores and determining the best fit for those new stores based on many criteria," she said. "Part of our vision is to be the best fabric and craft retail brand for our customers and communities, so their feedback certainly plays a role in the assessment process.”
