Dematic expands on West Coast
Logistics supplier Dematic is expanding its West Coast operations.
Dematic’s North American headquarters are on Plymouth Avenue in northeast Grand Rapids.
The company is a global supplier of material-handling machinery and logistics systems for factories, warehouses and distribution centers.
Dematic’s new general manager, Pat Fitzpatrick, most recently general manager of FANUC Robotics America’s Western Region, will lead the expansion efforts and manage sales and engineering in eight states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
“This expansion will enable Dematic to continue to increase our response time in the western part of the country,” said John Baysore, president/CEO, Dematic North America. “High demand from our customers is driving business growth throughout all regions, especially in the West.”
The company is adding from 10 to 20 engineers and support jobs at the new office opened in Orange, Calif.
"With the expansion of Dematic’s sales, engineering and solution development departments, customers in the western region will be served by one centralized location.
“The company’s growth is a reflection of what is happening in the marketplace," Fitzpatrick said. "Global companies continue to localize distribution to ensure products are delivered to consumers quickly and efficiently. Dematic is a leader in fine tuning the supply chain, and I’m thrilled to help address customer needs in this critical region."
Dematic's global headquarters is in Luxembourg, and it has regional manufacturing and engineering facilities in 19 countries around the world.
The company has developed and implemented more than 5,000 integrated material-handling systems for a wide variety of customers and now generates about $1.3 billion in revenue annually.
