Malamiah Juice Bar blends freshness at Downtown Market
The startup Malamiah Juice Bar will be open for business when Downtown Market opens its indoor Market Hall on Labor Day.
Jermale and Anissa Eddie, founders of Malamiah Juice Bar, hope to promote holistic health and community wellness — by providing natural and fresh juice and smoothie products, along with health education and youth employment opportunities.
“The business climate in Grand Rapids is very supportive for entrepreneurial ventures right now, especially those that seek to make a positive community impact,” Anissa Eddie said. “The Market Hall is an ideal venue for our vision. We are looking forward to building strong relationships with other market vendors — local farmers, growers and retailers who can supply our produce.”
The retailer joins 18 other vendors that will lease space in Market Hall, including Rak Thai Bistro and City Produce, which Downtown Market officials named today.
The overall vision for Downtown Market is to become the anchor of a larger market district in the Heartside neighborhood and serve as an authentic community-gathering place that reflects the diversity and creativity of Grand Rapids.
