Brewery opens with reserved seats for Stanley Cup and Calder Cup
A brewery that’s been in the process of opening since last summer will open its doors Thursday.
Grandville teacher Ron Denning and his wife, Mindy, have transformed the old Elder’s Appliance store in Grandville into Osgood Brewing, at 4051 Chicago Dr. SW.
The brewery will offer six mainstay brews: an American wheat ale, a pale ale, an IPA, an American amber ale, a porter and an English stout.
The brewery also hopes to include four seasonal beers and occasional high-gravity brews.
Osgood Brewing will get a boost on Saturday when the Calder Cup and Stanley Cup both make an appearance.
The Stanley Cup will be with Chicago Blackhawks equipment assistant Jim Heintzelman, who once worked with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The Calder Cup will arrive with Brad Thompson, the Griffins’ equipment manager.
Osgood Brewing opens Thursday at 5 p.m. and will have special hours Friday, 4 p.m.-1 a.m., and Saturday, noon to 1 a.m.
Regular hours will begin next week, including Monday-Wednesday, 4-10 p.m., Thursday, 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday, noon to 1 a.m.
The brewery is closed Sundays.
