Editor’s note: Each issue of the Influential Women enewsletter will feature a profile of one of the Business Journal’s reigning 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan. The profile first appeared in the event program and highlights Amanda Rogalski's work at viastore systems.

Amanda Rogalski possesses the skills and intellectual moxie to work from the ground up.

Viastore systems’ marketing department is a salient example.

Viastore is a German-owned company that helps warehouses become more efficient by developing material-handling solutions, automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyor systems and warehouse management software systems.

This ambitious business model requires a concerted effort from viastore’s employees, which is where Rogalski took center stage by internally working to create a fun and charitable environment during her tenure there.

Employee engagement

Specifically, she accomplished this through her initiation of the interconnected workplace management Fish! practices, employee recognition programs, Adopt-a-Highway, charitable giving at Thanksgiving and Christmas and multiple blood drives.

Global

She also was influential in helping viastore’s employees find training programs that are a good fit and has fashioned communication strategies and activities that have allowed company employees to engage customers, employees and German colleagues.

Rogalski served on multiple teams related to viastore’s global initiatives to become more global in its thinking.

To that end, she helped identify global markets and develop a new global intranet.

She holds a master's in communications and bachelor's in marketing and international business from Grand Valley State University.

In the community

Rogalski has been active with several organizations in the community: president of the Grand Rapids Young Professionals; founding member of Grand Valley State University’s Young Alumni Council and charter member for a Young Professionals Council, serving as a voice of young professionals to the CIO of Michigan.
